Dr. Nick Magnusson, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, Doctor of Physical Therapy; Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist
Dr. Nick Magnusson has been practicing Physical Therapy since 2016. Nick grew up locally and was a multi-sport athlete playing baseball, soccer and varsity football at Thousand Oaks High School. His experience with sports and other favorite outdoor activities (hiking and climbing) led to him to become enamored with the incredibly trainable and resilient human body. Nick first began pursuing this passion studying Exercise Science at Northern Arizona University and then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the #1 rated PT Program- the University of Southern California School of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy.
He spent the first few years in practice working alongside a team of orthopedic physicians in the South Bay where he treated a vast array of orthopedic postoperative cases- from early postop to discharge. His sports and education help him understand patients’ goals & how to help achieve them. He enjoys working with patients of all ages and abilities who are struggling with orthopedic and neurological injuries.
Nick has learned that successful outcomes require a combination of: skilled PT Evaluation and intervention, communication among the patient, therapist & physician, and consistent patient participation with his/her home exercise program. He was once himself a patient of APTSM, a postgraduate intern, and now a treating physical therapist at APTSM. He has recently purchased his first home in Thousand Oaks and has been grateful to be back in his hometown treating patients.
