Ron Higa, ATC

Ron has been treating patients since 1997 and became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 1999.  He has provided Athletic Training services for the NBA summer camp, AMA Supercross, Air It Out, Hoop it Up and Junior Volleyball Festival. At California State University, Northridge he was the athletic trainer for the women’s soccer team, managing all medical issues on campus and while traveling.  He enjoys the opportunity to treat Olympians and players from the MLB, NBA, PGA, NFL, MLS, and NCAA.  

After fully recovering from three knee surgeries, including an ACL reconstruction, plenty of ankle sprains and shoulder strains, Ron understands how much work it takes to get back into playing shape.  He understands and shares his patients’ excitement when they are able to complete their first full revolution on the stationary bike.

Interests and Accomplishments

Ron worked as an Athletic Training Laboratory Instructor at California State University, Northridge and served as Head Athletic Trainer for a local high school. 

Since 2016, he has been an assistant coach for NCAA Division III Men’s Volleyball program at California Lutheran University.  He has also been coaching youth boys and girls volleyball for over 20 years.  In 1995, Ron also participated in the NCAA Division III national finals as a coach for CLU women’s volleyball team. 

Ron enjoys spending time with his family, camping, cooking and playing volleyball and the guitar.
